Jeremiah 8

“Moreover you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord:
“Will they fall and not rise?
Will one turn away and not return?
Why has this people slidden back,
Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding?
They hold fast to deceit,
They refuse to return.
I listened and heard,
But they do not speak aright.
No man repented of his wickedness,
Saying, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone turned to his own course,
As the horse rushes into the battle.

1. May God give me the courage to preach such a hard and unpopular message, when he calls on me to do so.
2. "deceit"
3. Saying, "What have I done?" - I wonder if we think enough about what we have done to even get here.  This is a good question to have in the back of our mind to accompany a repentent heart.
