Exodus 27-28

Exodus
27.1  altar...
27.7  as it was shown you on the mountain...  It seems that Moses had seen some kind of likeness of all these pieces on the mountain ... and could remember what he had seen.
27.9  the court...
27.16  the gate...
28.5  ephod...
28.9  two stones...
28.15  breastplate of judgment...
28.31  the robe...
28.35  that he may not die...  That is a curious phrase that would be worth chasing down sometime.
28.38 the iniquity of the holy things...  Another puzzling phrases.

ex 24-26

Exodus
24.10 they saw the God of Israel...
24.9-11  This is really a quite remarkable section that jumped out to me this time reading through.  There is a mention of feet, the pre-incarnate Christ?
24.11  they ate and drank...  probably a sacrificial feast related to the earlier offerings.
24.17  the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire.
25.10 ark...
25.17  mercy seat of pure gold...
25.23  table...
25.29  dishes...
25.31  lampstand...
25.40  according to the pattern...  
26.1  curtains of fine woven linnen...
26.7  curtains of goats' hair...
26.14  curtains of ram skins dyed red and badger skins...
26.30  according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain....
26.31  a veil...
26.36  a screen...

ex 20-23

Exodus
20.6  thousands...  He refers to those who hate in terms of generations, but seems to count those who love him (unless the thousands refers to the number of generations, but unless there is hyperbole, I don't think there will ever be thousands of generations.)
20.8-11  I always find it curious that this is the longest command.
20.20 Do not fear...  That is an interesting thing to say in this context, even though I understand the point.
21.4  I can see some justification for this, but I'm sorry, this makes not sense to me from a Biblical perspective.
21.29  Wow! That's a pretty severe law.
22.2  So Israel had a "make my day"law.
22.4 double...
22.7  double...
22.9  double...
22.16  So, if she is not a virgin, it doesn't matter?
2.28  It is interesting that these two are put together.
23.2  You shall not follow a crowd to do evil...  Now this is one that every teen hears repeatedly, but usually without the reference.
23.3 Now that I think about it, it would be demeaning and disrespectful to do this.
23.8  blinds...  why bribes are bad.
23.19b  not boil...  This is an interesting one to think about.

Ex 18-19

18.11  now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods...  This statement kinda surprises me after what seems to be a very solid statement of praise in the preceding verse.
18.21  able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness...  Now that will preach. A short list, but a good one!
19.8  All that the Lord has spoken we will do...  This was one of the biggest, fattest lies in the whole book. 
19.10 Has anybody ever used this verse as a reason for a church dress code of any kind?
19.25-26  These are very curious provisions from my 21st century perspective.

Ex 17

17.2 Well, then, who were they supposed to contend with? :o)  Reminds me of  James 1.3
17.10 Aaron and Hur...  If it weren't for the unfortunate similarity with the 3rd person singular feminine objective/possesive pronoun, this would be a good boy's name.  I love what Arron and Hur did in this chapter.
17.15  YHWH Nissi... It sounds more militant than I have usually thought of it. 
To praise God for His help, Moses built an altar, which he called “Jehovah my banner,” and said, when he did so, “The hand on the throne (or banner) of Jah! War to the Lord from generation to generation!” There is nothing said about sacrifices being offered upon this altar. It has been conjectured, therefore, that as a place of worship and thank-offering, the altar with its expressive name was merely to serve as a memorial to posterity of the gracious help of the Lord, and that the words which were spoken by Moses were to serve as a watchword for Israel, keeping this act of God in lively remembrance among the people in all succeeding generations. כִּי (Exo_17:16)   ---Keil and Delitzsch
