For further consideration:
ID: Inductive Questions (Asking the text questions like who, what, where, when, why, & how?”)
CR: Cross References (Comparing Scripture to Scripture, understanding the vague by the clear.)
WS: Word Study (Understanding definition, theological meaning, and usages in other passages.)
·       ID/CR The Ten Commandments are repeated in Deuteronomy 5:6-21.  What differences do you notice between the two accounts?  Do any of them add to your understanding of the Ten Commandments?
·       Can you identify a logic to the order of the commands?
·    One way of thinking about The Ten Commandments is as representing the character (or attributes) of God.  Can you think of attributes that fit with each of The Ten Commandments?

·       (20:8-11) It may seem odd that the longest command is about the Sabbath.  What is the Sabbath? Does it just refer to a day of the week (Leviticus 25)?  Are there any ways that you currently keep or observe a Christian “Sabbath” on Sunday?  What do the epistles say about the Sabbath? (Romans 14:1-6ff ; Colossians 2:16-17ff; Hebrews 4:1-11)
·       Moses told the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” Why would Moses tell the people to “Fear not,” if God had wanted His fear to be before them?  Is the “fear of the Lord” also a New Testament concept?
Living Water Ministry uses a witnessing method called The Way of the Master, a method for sharing the Gospel that uses The Ten Commandments.   You can see a demonstration of this method at   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqNDdCzOGTI
