Sun 100111 pm Matt 4-6

Matthew 4
4.1  lead up by the Spirit...  Even Jesus was led by the Spirit!
4.4, 7, & 10  it is written...  in Deuteronomy.  When's the last time I have read from Deuteronomy?
4.23  the Gospel of the Kingdom...  This has become a somewhat intimidating theological term, but I am looking at it from a simpler point of view.  If gospel means good news then He was telling people good news about His kingdom.  It sounds less stern and uptight than a term with so many theological sand traps around it.

Matthew 5
5.10  persecuted for righteousness sake...  I suspect that a lot of our "persecution" has little to do with righteousness sake.
5.16  all is accomplis hed...   Everything God finishes everything he sets out.

Matthew 6
6.1  Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people...  Of course we do it for God, but if other people see ... well that's just icing on the cake.  :o)
6.7  empty phrases...  So can orthodox Biblical prayers be empty phrases.  It reminds me of, I think, a Tozer quote.  "When we become glib in prayer, we are most certainly talking to ourselves.
6.24  two masters...  That is always the pits.
6.27  by being anxious can add a single hour to his span...  O the pointless things that we do and think about!
