Mon 100412 pm Jn 4-5

John 4
4.10  If you knew the gift of God...  This is the God part in a person coming to Christ.
4.12  our father Jacob...  This is a curious statement.  I somehow wonder if Jews would consider themselves to have a common heritage with the Samaritans.
4.39-42  because of the woman's testimony ... we have heard for ourselves, and we know... They seem to have gone from warming up from her fire to having their own.
4.46  It is easy to forget this story is in this chapter because the woman at the well story overshadows it in our minds.
.
John 5
5.10  The man who healed me, that man said...  I wonder if our lack of obedience is due, in part, to the fact that we have forgotten that we have been "healed?"
5.18  making himself equal with God...
5.39  We must be careful of letting the study of Scripture distract us from the God they speak of.
5.45  Moses on whom you have set your hope...  Trusted in him instead of Christ, but missed his testimony about Christ.  Go figure.
