2 Kings 15
15.8 He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin. This is a sad refrain that I have almost memorized from the frequency of it being repeated. What a sad legacy for Jeroboam. (1 Kings 14:16; 15:30; 16:2; 16:19; 16:26; 16:31; 10:29; 10:31; 13:2; 13:6; 14:16; 15:30; 16:2; 16:19; 16:26; 16:31; 2 Kings 10:29; 10:31; 13:2; 13:6; 13:11; 14:24; 15:9; 15:18; 15:24; 15:28; 17:22)
15.30 The ultimate "being voted out."
.
2 Kings 16
16.14 that was before the Lord... seems like a much better creditual that fancy smancy like the one in Damascus.
16.15 altar shall be for me to inuire by... Keil and Delitzch says, "לְבַקֵּר יִהְיֶה־לִי, the brazen altar "will be to me for deliberation," i.e., I will reflect upon it, and then make further arrangements." It would be interesting to check some other translations..
