1 Chronicles 18-21

18.6  preserved...  Strong's H3467 - yasha`   (Hiphil)  to save, deliver, to give victory to
18.8  with which Solomon made the...  This makes me wonder if many of these conquests were (as least in part) were undertaken with the purpose of gathering materials for the Temple.
18.12  Abishai...  extreme fighter

18.14-15
19.13  Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do [that which is] good in his sight...  This is a surprizingly theologically astute and all around great perspective to come from someone like Joab.  I make have to rethink some of my opinion about him. 
21.1  Satan stood up...   When he wanted to attack the nation, he went after the leader.  A word to the wise.  He also "moved" David.  We should be cautious of such "movements."  Strong's H5496 - cuwt: to incite, allure, instigate, entice
21.3-4  The king's word prevailed against Joab...  Another bright moment for Joab.
21.12  with the angel of the LORD destroying... This is indeed a puzzling incident with the choices and all.  I'm not sure what to make of it. I'll have to read up on it sometime.
